Two-day baseball clinic in Sunnyside recruiting teens

Sunnyside-area teens, 14 and older, are invited to attend a special two-day baseball clinic next week.

Former Sunnyside High School Baseball Coach Pete Marquez, who now serves as a coach for the Senior American Legion Twin City Titans, said the Thursday and Friday, Dec. 29-30, clinic will be held at Sunnyside Chief Kamiakin Elementary School gym. Clinic hours will be from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. each day.

The focus, said Marquez, will be on pitching, catching, infield play and some hitting.

The clinic instructors will include Jake Muyco, a Major League class AAA pitcher, and collegiate shortstop Brady Farrington.

Cost to attend the two-day clinic is $50. The clinic will be limited to the first 20 youngsters who sign up. Parents can register their children for the camp by contacting either Marquez (840-4412) or Alex Castilleja (643-2107).
