GRANDVIEW - The Lady Greyhounds fell 65-50 to the Red Devils in a game controlled by East Valley from the get-go last night in Grandview.
The defeat snaps a three-game winning streak for Grandview.
The Red Devils took an early lead, and kept it with good rebounding and solid shooting from the field.
Grandview trailed 20-10 after the first quarter, and was outscored 16-12 in the second, leading to a 14-point deficit going into the half.
The Lady Greyhounds put up a fight in the third quarter, but despite outscoring East Valley 19-17 were only able to cut the lead by two points.
The fourth quarter was all Red Devils as they pulled away to a 19-point lead before Grandview came back to finish 15 behind.
The leading scorer for Grandview was Marissa Caballero, who finished with 14 points. Breanna Lopez finished with 12 points for the Lady Greyhounds, all via 3-pointers.
"It was a good test for us, to find out where we are," said Coach David Gibb. "We'll take it and we'll learn from it."
Grandview (3-2, 5-2) next plays in Toppenish on Thursday, Dec. 29.
