As 2012 approaches area residents are setting their plans to ring out the old year and ring in the new.
Though in Sunnyside there isn't much in the way of activities for the under-21 crowd and their families, an area business is opening its doors for all ages to have fun this New Year's Eve.
This year youngsters can ring in the New Year at Valley Lanes in Sunnyside.
"We'll be having our cosmic bowling that night," says owner Rob Rice.
Valley Lanes, also recently renovated with a high intensity video arcade, is located at 1802 E. Edison Ave. Sunnyside. The business will be open on New Year's Eve, this Saturday, Dec. 31, for a celebration to remember.
Cosmic bowling will begin at 8 p.m.; the lights will come down and strobe lights will be flashing in full force along with the latest music accompanying the fun that is planned.
"We'll be open until 12:30 this year so (our customers) can ring in the New Year here," Rice added.
Rice says bowling is first come, first served, but it may be a good idea to reserve a lane at Valley Lanes.
To make a reservation or for more information, contact the bowling alley at (509) 839-6103.
