Lady Greyhounds celebrate road win

TOPPENISH - The Lady Greyhounds won a big battle against the Toppenish Wildcats last night, winning 52-33 to increase their league standings to 4-2.

The game started out close in the first quarter, but Grandview broke away in the second and third quarters, holding the Wildcats to only four points in each quarter.

"Breanna Lopez and Mikaela Espinoza did a great job guarding Toppenish's leading scorer," said Coach David Gibb. "And Payton Parrish had a great game from top to bottom."

Parrish and Espinoza led the Lady 'Hounds in scoring, putting in 18 points each. Marissa Caballero added another 13 points.

"We really pulled away after the half," said Gibb. "It was a great win for us on the road."

With the win, Grandview increases its overall record to 6-2 on the season.

"It was a big win for us," said Gibb. "Toppenish was ahead of us. It was a big win."

Grandview next plays Wapato at home on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
