New Year's Eve party for teens back on track again

New Year's Eve: What was looking like a cancelled event is back on track, thanks to a generous donor.

A New Year's Eve celebration for high school-aged youngsters will be hosted by Sunnyside's Promise this Saturday, Dec. 31, at Sunnyside's Community Center.

"Because of a generous benefactor we are now doing something for New Year's (Eve)," said Lisa Fairbairn,

Operations Manager for Sunnyside's Promise.

The event will be held at the community center, located at 1521 S. First St., in Sunnyside.

The New Year's Eve party will be held from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and is open to all high school students. The cost is $5 and includes food, prizes and games.

Activities will include Xbox, Wii, glow in the dark dodge ball, basketball and dancing.

Fairbairn says interested volunteers can contact the Sunnyside Community Center via the center's Facebook page or by calling (509) 837-2205.
