GRANDVIEW - A home in Grandview was hit by gunfire this past Saturday night. The residence, located in the 400 block of Avenue E, was hit by one bullet. None of the five people inside the house were hurt.
An estimated five or six shots were fired at the scene, and Grandview police sought help from K9 units in Sunnyside, Prosser, Benton County and Yakima County, but none were available.
The only suspect information was a description of two people on foot, one in a black and the other in a gray hoodie. There was also a reference to a white vehicle.
In other activity since this past Friday, Grandview police were called to the 400 block of West Fifth Street, where jewelry was reported missing following a burglary.
Also since Friday, a man suffered a severe cut after he struck a bedroom window with his fist. The incident took place in the 500 block of West Third Street. The man, who was related to one of the people in the house, was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
In other activity, a resident in the 400 block of Nicka Road reported that his tires were slashed. Another vehicle was vandalized in the 900 block of Karen Lane when a snowboard rack was stolen.
Grandview police also fielded a noise complaint and two dog complaints in activity since Friday.
