Fair housing training on tap next week

GRANGER - The Northwest Fair Housing Alliance will host a free fair housing and fair lending training workshop for social service providers and housing advocates on Thursday, Feb. 24, in Granger.

The workshop will include a review of area HUD (U.S. Departing of Housing and Urban Development) approved counseling agencies, a list of documents needed for productive housing counseling sessions, a review of the Making Home Affordable program, information to identify and report foreclosure rescue scams and an overview of discriminatory lending practices.

They will also do a brief overview of fair housing laws and current topics regarding fair housing.

The workshop will be held at the Northwest Community Education Center at 121 Sunnyside Ave. in Granger.
