Tacoma Avenue home struck twice by gunfire today

Just before 3:30 a.m. this morning (Thursday) Sunnyside police officers raced to a shots fired call in the 1100 block of Tacoma Avenue. A resident there reported four shots were fired at a home. The home was struck twice, but no injuries were reported and the incident is still under investigation, according to Public Information Officer Charlotte Hinderlider.

Since yesterday two thefts have also been reported to Sunnyside police. Tires were reported stolen from Walmart and money was reported stolen from the desk of an individual in the 200 block of West Grandview Avenue.

Also since yesterday officers have responded to two 9-1-1 hang-up calls, a report of two abandoned vehicles, four automatic alarms, three animal problems, two assaults, a report of disorderly conduct, two domestic violence situations, a juvenile problem, two parking problems, a report of a runaway juvenile, a vehicle accident, two traffic calls, a report of vandalism, a report of an individual in violation of a court order and an informational call. Officers provided three agency assists, recovered a stolen vehicle and provided a welfare check.
