Hazel Irene Owen, 89, of Yakima died on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 13, 1921 in Sprague to Frank and Fay Daley.

In 1954, she married Jack Lane Owen.

She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Purdy of Sunnyside, Bonnie Head of Yakima, Wanda Owen of Olympia, and Sandi Damson of Yakima; daughter-in-law, Lucille; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Humphrey; two grandsons; one great-grandson; three sisters, Gladys Rishor, Bertha Thomas, Margaret Laymance; and two brothers, Ray Daley and Roy Daley.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1 p.m., at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Private burial will follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens.

Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in charge of arrangements.
