Grandview man shot in the leg early Saturday morning

GRANDVIEW - A 21-year-old Grandview man was hit in the leg by a gunshot this past Saturday in the 600 block of East Third Street.

Grandview police say the man was taken to Sunnyside Community Hospital for treatment, and that he was likely an innocent victim of a possible gang shooting in the area.

The man was leaving a friend's house in Grandview in the early morning hours when he was hit in the leg while standing on the front porch, police said.

Officers investigating the scene found several bullet casings in the area where the shooting occurred.

Police continue to interview witnesses and encourage anyone with information to call the Grandview Police Department at 882-2000.

At about 3:30 a.m. this past Saturday, two hours after the gunfire on East Third Street, Grandview police were called to break up a fight in the 100 block of East Second Street.

In other activity since this past Friday, Grandview police were alerted to a burglary in the 500 block of South Elm Street, where a 47-inch LCD flatscreen TV was reportedly stolen.

Grandview police also made a routine traffic stop last night, Sunday, in the 500 block of West Fourth Street, during which a small amount of marijuana was found.

Also since Friday, Grandview police were called to assist the State Patrol with a traffic accident last night at the intersection of Wine Country Road and exit 73 off of I-82.
