The public is invited to bring their questions and their applications for assistance with tainted drinking water to one of three public information meetings.
All three start at 6 p.m.
The first information session is Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the Artz-Fox Elementary School gymnasium in Mabton, 805 Washington Street.
The second is next Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Denny Blaine Building boardroom in Sunnyside at 810 E. Custer.
The third is Wednesday, Jan. 19, at the Toppenish High School cafeteria/multipurpose room at 141 Ward Road.
At all three sessions, state and county officials will offer one-one-one assistance to help people fill out their applications, so they should bring with them the nitrate packets they received in the mail.
Financial assistance for a water filtration system is available to help property owners who rely on private wells and have drinking water with high levels of nitrates.
Officials at all three meetings will also offer information about testing wells for nitrates and other contaminants.
