BICKLETON - The Pirates suffered another bitterly disappointing loss this past Friday, Jan. 7.
The 47-15 defeat against Klickitat was the result of very poor shooting, said Bickleton Coach Jerry Roberts.
"It was just one of those nights where all three of my shooters were just off."
Bickleton scored just 6 points in the first half of the game. Coach Roberts reported that the team missed shots that they usually get to fall and it created a negative mentality the team just could not shake in the second half.
Roberts revealed the team shot 14 percent for the game and had 24 turnovers.
Scoring for the Bickleton team were Mitchell Powers, 6, Justin Roberts, 4, Peter Clinton, 3, and Daniel Clingon, 2.
Coach Roberts revealed that he'll accept the devastating loss so long as his team can learn from it.
"We're not going to quit," he said. "We're just going to keep grinding away and keep trying to get better. If we learned from a loss like this, I'll take the loss."
Bickleton (0-3, 1-8) will try to improve its standing this Tuesday, Jan. 18, in a home game against Yakama Tribal.
