Greyhounds best Wolves in 49-27 win

GRANDVIEW - Wapato wrestlers were guests in Greyhound country yesterday (Thursday) but the Grandview wrestlers overpowered the team and earned a 49-27 victory.

Three Grandview wrestlers, Eduardo Alcantar (145 lbs.), Mario Prieto (152 lbs.) and Raul Gamboa (160 lbs.) all won by forfeit.

Grandview's Juan Tzib (119 lbs.) won his match against Wapato's Daniel Espinoza by a 4-1 decision. His teammate, Joesiah Saunders (140 lbs.) also defeated his opponent, K.C. Frazier, with a 11-2 decision.

Angel Abarca (125 lbs.), David Castaneda (130 lbs.), Adam Morales (215 lbs.) and Martin Torrez (285 lbs.) all won their matches by pinning their opponents.

Abarca pinned Wapato's Hernando Valdivia in 2:20, while Castaneda pinned Christopher Martinez in 1:06.

Morales went on to pin Wapato's Jacob Contreras in 46 seconds and Torres pinned Arturo Guerrero in 17 seconds.

The Grandview Greyhounds, whose CWAC record rose to 3-5 with this win against Wapato, will finish out their regular season in Zillah tonight (Friday).
