Sunnyside Police have recently responded to a number of daylight burglaries around the city.
The burglaries appear to be happening between Monday and Friday throughout the day. There does not appear to be any significant patterns to the selection of the residences and businesses although a majority appear to be at the end of intersections where there is easy access to flee the area, according to police officials.
Sunnyside police encourage residents to call 836-6200 if they notice any suspicious vehicles or people in their area.
Additionally, lights, alarm systems, and keeping bushes, shrubbery and items away from windows will reduce your chances of your residence or business being broken into.
"People need to watch out for themselves and their neighbors. You know who belongs in your area and if they are suspicious and don't
belong there call us and we will respond. Staying vigilant will help police effectively and efficiently do
our jobs," said Sunnyside Deputy Police Chief Phil Schenck.
