Frank W. Cook, 67, of Sunnyside passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at his home.

He was born Sept. 12, 1943 in Missoula, Mont., the son of Frank W. and Elizabeth Grace (McWhirk) Cook.

Frank received his education in Corvallis, Mont., graduating with the class of 1962. He served three years in the U.S. Army.

On Nov. 5, 1971 he married Donna Jeanne Ruby in Sunnyside.

Frank worked as a mechanic for Independent Food in Sunnyside for 37 years.

He enjoyed all sports but was loyal to the Seahawks, Mariners and the Washington Huskies. He also enjoyed being a model trains hobbyist, a NASCAR fan and loved to fish.

Frank is survived by his wife, Donna Cook of Sunnyside; two stepdaughters, Carole Hanlin and Barbara Britton, both of Houston, Texas; his mother, Elizabeth Grace Cook of Sunnyside; one sister, Carrie Mae (Dorman) Nolan of Olympia; two brothers, Mark (Sara) Cook of Sunnyside and Rickie Cook of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother in-law, Larry Kitzmiller of Blackfoot, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank W. Cook Sr.

Memorial funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Those wishing to sign Frank's on-line memorial book may do so at
