Wanda Alice Bradshaw, 80, of Sunnyside passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, in Bellingham, at her daughter's home.
Wanda was born March 24, 1931 in Van Buren, Ark., the daughter of William and Gertrude May (Brown) Edie.
She received her early education in Arkansas before moving to Prosser. Wanda graduated with the Prosser High School class of 1948.
In 1965 she married Thomas Bradshaw in Maryland. Wanda worked as a medical transcriptionist for various doctors in the Yakima Valley until she retired.
When Wanda was in her 60's she earned her Associate Degree from Yakima Valley Community College and also took some classes at Heritage College in Toppenish. She was the past president of the Washington Association of Medical Transcriptionist. Wanda was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Sunnyside Chapter and Sunshine Chapter in Prosser, where she served as Chaplin, past Deputy Instructor for Grand Chapter of Washington O.E.S., past Worthy Matron and several Star Points. Wanda enjoyed golfing, collecting gravy boats and butterflies.
Wanda is survived by her son, John R. (Rhonda) Jack Perard of Sunnyside; daughter, Pamela Marie (Paul) Sorensen of Bellingham; three grandchildren, Tom (Cari) Arenson, Alice Arenson and Trudy Arenson; two great- grandchildren, Bridgett and Tucker; brother, William Edie Jr. of Prosser; and two sisters, Barbara Meriwether of Anaconda, Mont. and Faye Myers of Bryan, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Ginger Steffen.
Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, July 15, 2011, from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, July 16, 2011, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
