Ronald Scott Jack, 70, of Bellevue passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 10, 2011.
He was born Oct. 7, 1940 in St. Paul, Minn. to Freeman and Virginia Jack.
Ron graduated from Central High School in 1958. He received a BA from Mankato State University in 1962. After college Ron served honorably in the U.S. Navy, as a naval aviator aboard the USS Oriskany. After completion of his service, Ron was hired with Western Airlines in 1968, where he retired as a Captain for Delta Airlines in 2004.
Ron married Susan Jack in June of 1983 in Minnesota, before relocation to Bellevue.
In retirement, Ron was an avid member of the community, he served as both commodore for the Newport Yacht Club, served on the Bellevue Mediation Board, Keywest Harbour Yacht Club and Keywest Parrot Heads Club.
Ron was an avid sportsman, loving both the mountains and ocean. His life took him all over the world, and provided for many "Ron Jack" stories.
Ron will be dearly missed not only by family but an incredible circle of friends.
Ron is survived by his wife, Susan; his mother, Virginia of Madison, Wis.; his three children, Robert and Sarah Jack of Minneapolis, Minn., John and Malyssa Jack of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Joanie and Jonathan Boswell of Houston, Texas; one stepbrother, Tom (Sally) Yaeger of Madison, Wis.; brother-in-law, James Taylor of Richland; father and mother-in-law, Tom and Betty Taylor of Sunnyside; and seven grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Claire, Keegan, Emma, Ally and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Freeman "Scotty" Jack; and stepfather, Laird Yaeger.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Overlake Internal Medicine Hematology, Dr. Nicholas L. Kovach M.D., 1135 116th Avenue, N.E., Suite 230, Bellevue, WA 98004.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Bellevue, followed by a reception at 1 p.m. at Newport Yacht Club in Newport Shores.
