Sunnyside kidnapping suspect's ominibus hearing this September

YAKIMA - Alma Y. Reynoso, 38, was earlier this month charged with first degree kidnapping and theft of a motor vehicle accessory in connection with the June 30 kidnapping of a man she allegedly encountered at Sunnyside's Egley's bar.

Reynoso allegedly was in the bar and recognized the man whom she had known for approximately five years.

The man told officials he and Reynoso left the bar at approximately 2 a.m. in his Jaguar. He told officials they traveled to a location in Outlook where four men approached his vehicle and pulled him out.

The victim told Yakima County Sherriff's deputies he escaped and contacted authorities after the suspects held him hostage for $20,000 ransom.

Reynoso turned herself in to authorities with an attorney by her side.

She was subsequently arrested and held on a $200,000 bail, which was reduced July 8 to $50,000.

Reynoso posted the bond July 12 according to official records and was arraigned yesterday.

According to the Yakima County Prosecutor's Office Victim/Witness Assistance Unit's Darla Jensen, Reynoso is scheduled to appear at an omnibus hearing in September.
