Homes on Monson feedlot to be surplused

To remove or sell the two residential dwellings located on the city of Sunnyside's property formerly known as the Monson feedlot, the Sunnyside City Council last Monday night surplused the homes.

The homes were listed as assets and for legal reasons had to be surplused before plans to have them sold, demolished or razed can be made.

Councilman Mike Farmer was the only dissenting council member, citing he wanted council to have a say in how the property was disposed.

The 5-1 vote gives the city manager the ability to decide the best avenue of disposal without secondary consent.
