Grandview inks deal with Fruit Smart

GRANDVIEW - In activity during its meeting this week, the Grandview City Council approved an industrial wastewater agreement with food processing company Fruit Smart.

Industrial wastewater from the company's processing activity is treated through the city's plant. The agreement inked on Tuesday of this week accounts for Fruit Smart's faster-than-expected growth.

The company, which has made a capital investment of about $4 million in Grandview, anticipates increasing its production from 30,000 tons of fresh fruit per year to eventually 120,000 tons.
