Sunnyside police nab four out-of-towners on 'dine and dash' charge

A Sunnyside business in the 900 block of Yakima Valley Highway last night (Wednesday) at approximately 8 p.m. reported four men ordered food, ate the meals and left the establishment without paying for the meals. The server provided police with a vehicle license plate that was later found at another Sunnyside business. Four men were taken into custody on a requested charge of theft third degree. They include Ryan Stacy, 25, of Kelso; Micah Rhodes, 31, of Clatskamie, Ore.; Jordan Wilson, 19, of Longview; and Jacob Swogger, 25, of Kelso.

Also since yesterday Sunnyside police officers were alerted to a burglary. Items were reported stolen from a railroad box car in the 400 block of East Alexander Road yesterday just after 1 p.m.

Sunnyside police have also responded to three automatic alarms, two animal complaints, a report of a disorderly individual, a domestic violence incident, a juvenile problem, a loitering problem, a solicitor problem, three suspicious activity calls, a parking problem, a fireworks complaint, two traffic accidents, a vandalism report and a report of a person in violation of a court order. Officers, too provided a welfare check, an agency assist and two citizen assists, as well as served two arrest warrants and a court order.
