Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Steven Howard Long, 69, of Sunnyside passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011, at his home.

Steven graduated from Sunnyside High School with the class of 1959 and later attended YVCC.

On Dec. 29, 1961 he married Phyllis Frasch in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. Steven along with his wife, Phyllis, owned and operated the Sport Center and M&J Taverns in Grandview for 44 years. He was also involved in logging and farming.

Steven enjoyed hunting, gold mining, logging, antiquing and spending time with family and friends and cherished time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters, Gaylene (John) Tucker of Sunnyside and Paula (Shawn) Van Belle of Sunnyside; grandchildren, Rylee Van Belle, Ryker Van Belle, Stormee Van Belle, all of Sunnyside, Stephanie (Mike) Tucker-Houser of Prosser, Ryan (Lindsey) Tucker and Rick Tucker; great-grandchildren, Jaidyn Houser and Coen Tucker; one brother, John (Opal) Long of Sunnyside; and sisters-in-law, Donna (Theron) Hancock, Carol (Chuck) Dompier and Bev Frasch.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Long, in 2011; parents, and one brother, Dave Long.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Steven's memory may contribute to the Sunnyside Christian School girls basketball program or Sunnyside Christian School Foundation.
