Grandview police ID shooting suspects

GRANDVIEW - The Grandview Police Department has made public three of the four names of thepeople arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting on Wednesday of this week.

Police captured four suspects on Wednesday for the shooting in the 600 block of East Third Street. There were no injuries or property damage reported from the drive-by shooting.

Yesterday, Thursday, police said charges of drive-by shooting were requested against Manuel Campos, 20, of Grandview; a 17-year-old juvenile male, also of Grandview; Angel Mendez, 20, of Sunnyside; and Ely Hernandez-Garcia, 22, of Sunnyside.

Charges were forwarded to the Yakima County Prosecutor on all four suspects.

Assistant Police Chief Mark Ware said the three adults were transported to Yakima County Jail this morning. The 17-year-old juvenile was released to his parent.

"Once prosecutors review reports, there may be additional charges filed against any or all of these individuals," Ware stated in a press release. "The case remains under investigation."

In activity since yesterday, officers were alerted to a vehicle theft in the 500 block of Broadview Drive. The person calling in the report said his 1999 Dodge Durango was stolen, as well as his TV.

Police also fielded two calls about suspicious activity and one dog complaint.
