County dog licenses available on-line

The Yakima County Sheriff's office has made it easier for residents in the county's unincorporated areas to purchase dog licenses.

Working with the county's technology services and an outside vendor, the Sheriff's office now accepts dog license purchases and renewals on-line via credit card or electronic check.

"It is our goal to make the dog licensing process quicker and easier for the dog owners in our county," said Sheriff Ken Irwin.

Those who live within the boundaries of an incorporated city such as Sunnyside and Grandview will need to contact their local officials for dog licensing.

Those living in unincorporated areas can apply on-line at and under the Dog License/Information tab on the left side of the page select "Online Dog Registration."

Once the required information is complete and you choose to submit the information, you will be asked to verify the accuracy of the information you submitted.

After verification you will continue to the payment web site, where all of the pertinent information you entered will be transferred for your ease.

You will then complete the payment method information for submission.

After payment, your initial application information will be forwarded to a Yakima County Sheriff's clerk for processing and a dog license will be mailed out.
