Maple Grove Road home targeted by drive-by shooters

A drive-by shooting just after 11 p.m. last night (Sunday) targeting a house in the 200 block of Maple Grove Road north of Sunnyside left the building riddled with bullets, but fortunately no one was injured.

Everyone in the house was asleep, according to the Yakima County Sheriff's report, and deputies were unable to get a description of the vehicle. Three to four bullet holes in the home were discovered. A neighbor living north of the shot up home called deputies and reported 10 shots were fired.

In other sheriff's office activity since last Friday a burglary was reported in the 4400 block of East Euclid Road near Mabton. The incident happened some time before it was reported and no details were provided on what was stolen.

Also since last Friday, deputies have dealt with one animal complaint, one assault, three reports of domestic violence, two DUIs, one vehicle fire, three reports of loud music, two suspicious people or situations, one report of trespassing and two reports of malicious mischief.

Deputies also assisted one agency, received one informational call, recovered one stolen vehicle and provided two welfare checks.
