GRANDVIEW - In action last night, Tuesday, the Grandview City Council approved a rezone that will allow more than 80 single family homes on nearly 25 acres east of North Euclid Road and north of North Fifth Street.
The move also allows 14 multi-family housing building lots on the acreage to accommodate apartments or duplexes.
Council approved the rezone change from agriculture to single family and multi-family residential.
The only question posed by council concerned traffic caused by the development. City Administrator Cus Arteaga said even with the additional traffic there isn't a need for a traffic signal based on vehicle trip estimates provided by the developer.
The development, which will be known as Bellevita Estates, will be constructed by Kennewick-based Royal Legacy Group.
