Not against police programs

In the Monday, June 27, issue of the Daily Sun News I was quoted as saying "...she believes the city owes it to its citizens to have a parks and recreation program, but has been spending much of its money on police programs. In doing so the citizens have been neglected."

I did not say too much money has been spent on police programs.

At the city council meeting on June 13, I spoke about the gang problem and stated I supported all the council's enforcement programs to prevent gang activity, but I also felt we should have some preventative programs such as team sports so our young people would not be joining gangs and or be involved in criminal activity.
