GRANDVIEW - Life Options has been serving individuals and families in need of unconditional and loving support for the past 25 years and this year's fundraising Walk for Life will help ensure its indelible legacy.
This non-profit and faith-based organization has aided countless people seeking and understanding life-affirming options in case of unplanned pregnancies. They are also dedicated to educating the public on successful relationships and sexual integrity.
Along with pregnancy and STD tests, Life Options also provides clients with education, information support, peer consultations for men and women, parent classes and programs, as well as Christian maturity classes.
All services provided by the organization are free and confidential.
Participants in the Walk for Life event will start from Country Park Event Center in Grandview on Saturday, April 30, at 10 a.m. The park is located at 812 Wallace Way.
Those wishing to participate are asked to seek sponsor support. Reaching the minimum goal of $200 will earn the participant a free t-shirt. Sponsors can be found by telling friends, families and businesses about this opportunity, and asking for a monetary pledge. On average, it takes 12 sponsors for a participant to reach a $200 goal.
For people who are unable to walk on the day of the event, due to their schedule or weather conditions, they are free to walk the course on another day. The 2-mile walk is a short and easy distance to allow anyone and everyone to participate.
Participants do not need to collect money from their sponsors if they do not wish to. Just turn in the sponsor pledge form and let the event's organizers contact the sponsors about pledges.
