Horse owners invited to West Nile virus clinic

GRANDVIEW - The ninth annual West Nile Virus Clinic is set for Saturday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lower Yakima Valley fairgrounds in Grandview.

The clinic is sponsored by the Wine Country Riders, a chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of Washington, and Dr. Ernie Munck, D.V.M.

Available for purchase at the clinic will be vaccines for West Nile Virus, 4-Way and 5-Way immunizations.

Horses or mules can be brought to the clinic to have the vaccines administered on-site by a veterinarian, or the vaccines can be taken home and administered there.

Also available for purchase at the clinic will be a six-month Health Certificate/Coggins Test combo. The horse must be brought to the clinic for the test combo.

The vaccine schedule is $20 for the 4-Way immunication, $30 for the 5-Way immunization and $24 for the West Nile Virus immunication. Two dollars per West Nile Virus dose supports the Wine Country Riders.

The six-month combo test fee is $60.
