Shooting victim now stable

A Sunnyside teen who was sleeping in her bed when struck twice in the back by bullets this past Monday morning is in serious but stable condition, according to Sunnyside Police Department Public Information Officer Charlotte Hinderlider.

In a recent update on the victim's condition, she said local doctors are still treating the 16-year-old girl in the intensive care unit.

Police are still investigating the shooting that occurred in the 1100 block of Tacoma Avenue, as well as another drive-by shooting incident on Bagley Drive that occurred the same morning.

Detectives are still following any leads they have, but haven't yet named any suspects in the shootings.

Anyone with information about either incident is urged to call the Sunnyside Police Department at 836-6200.
