Two Sunnyside dancers who train at Martin's School of Dance will this coming Sunday perform at the Capitol Theatre in Yakima as members of the top 10 competitors in Mary Murphy's Showcase.
Emmalynn Hopper is just 10-years-old and she has been selected to compete in the dance contest, which will be held at 4 p.m.
Shelby Crossley, 16, is both a dance instructor and competitive dancer at Martin's School of Dance. She also made the short list for the showcase.
The competition will be judged by Murphy, a choreographer famously known for her skillful assessment of competitors on the FOX television dance competition "So You Think You Can Dance."
The two Sunnyside dancers will compete in Mary Murphy's Showcase in the lyrical solo competitions for their age divisions.
"The girls are very excited to perform for Mary Murphy and be a part of this event," said Dina Hopper, a coach at Martin's School of Dance.
Winners from each of the three age groups will be introduced to Murphy and they will have the opportunity to share lunch with her at the Yakima Convention Center next Monday. Murphy will be a guest speaker at a luncheon that day hosted by the YWCA.
"All the teachers and coaches from Martin's School of Dance are very proud of Emmalynn and Shelby," said Hopper.
Tickets for the showcase in Yakima are available at Ginger's Dance and Fitness Boutique, located at 5 N. 7th Avenue in Yakima, as well as at any Central Valley Bank location.
