Shooting victim released from hospital

A 16-year-old Sunnyside girl, who was shot twice in the back Monday morning, March 14, while lying in bed, has been released from Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

That's according to Sunnyside Police Department Public Information Officer Charlotte Hinderlider. She said the teen, who was sleeping in her bed inside her home in the 1100 block of Tacoma Avenue last week has been released to the care of her family. She is not believed to have been the target of the shooting.

The gang-related shooting is still under investigation by Sunnyside police and anyone with information is urged to call the Sunnyside Police Department at 836-6200.
