Facts interfere with rumor
I would like to clear up a misperception that a few people are promoting in Sunnyside.
It has been said that Nate Bridges, CPA at Bell and Bridges, and the President of the Board of Sunnyside's Promise has a conflict of interest with Sunnyside's Promise. Mr. Bridges rents space in his office building to Sunnyside's Promise. That is a fact.
Here are the other facts. The monthly rent paid by Sunnyside's Promise is $561.00. The market rate for this same space is $600.00 per month. In addition, Mr. Bridges covers the following expenses out of pocket: the increased usage for broadband internet, garbage, sewer, water, electricity and heating/cooling.
He pays $140 per month for janitorial services. Sunnyside's Promise uses his paper and toner for the copy machine and fax machine. On top of that, Mr. Bridges pays his employees to do the monthly bookkeeping, payroll services and quarterly reports for Sunnyside's Promise and he personally does the annual tax return for Sunnyside's Promise.
The fact is he donates at least $1500.00 per month as support for Sunnyside's Promise. The Board of Directors of Sunnyside's Promise knows about all of this, as well as the Community Advisory Council for Sunnyside's Promise. Members of both groups know Mr. Bridges reaps no personal benefit from renting to Sunnyside's Promise. Instead of criticizing Mr. Bridges, the "few" might want to get the facts straight and then thank Nate for his commitment to the youth of Sunnyside and the remarkable work that Sunnyside's Promise is doing in our city.
