Cisneros' hat trick lifts Vikings over Naches

MABTON - The Mabton Vikings boys soccer team used four goals in the first half and a hat trick by Edgar Cisneros to beat the Naches Valley Rangers 5-1 this past Friday.

The game was played in the rain, but that didn't affect the Vikings as Cisneros scored his first goal of the match in the 8th minute of play to give Mabton a 1-0 lead.

Four minutes later Mabton's Josh Carrasco headed a shot into the back of the net to give the Vikings a 2-0 lead. Teammate Gil Macedo punched in a shot in front of the goal at the 19th minute mark and the Vikings were rolling.

Mabton never let up, continuing to press until Cisneros picked up his second goal of the day at the 31st minute mark to give the Vikings a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.

Cisneros scored his third goal of the game in the 60th minute of play to give Mabton a 5-0 lead. The Rangers got one goal at the 70th minute mark to avoid the shutout.

Mabton (2-3, 3-3) will next play at Connell on Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m.
