YAKIMA - In just his fourth week playing the sport, Grandview Greyhound golfer Robert Lemus is off to a strong start, as he paced his team at the Lee Dolquist Invite held this past Friday at the Apple Tree course in Yakima.
The sophomore scored a 107 at the invite, rallying from a 58 on his first nine holes to card a 49 on his back nine.
Coach Dave Uggetti said Lemus started the day with a birdie on what proved to be Apple Tree's lucky 13th hole.
"That's his personal best by quite a bit," Uggetti said of Lemus' 18-hole total.
Next up for Grandview was Justin Murbach, who recorded a 115 with a 54 on his first nine and a 61 on the back nine.
Dylan Parker delivered a consistent performance for the Greyhounds, carding a 67 on the first nine and a 69 on the second to post a score of 136.
Rounding out Grandview's team score of 503 was Sean Charvet, with scores of 72 and 73 for a total 18-hole score of 145.
Scores from other teams and their golfers at the event were not available as of press time.
