Arrest may have ties to murder of Outlook girl

A 17-year-old Sunnyside-area male was arrested yesterday, Monday, on charges of weapons possession.

That's according to Stew Graham, chief of detectives for the Yakima County Sheriff's office.

He said the teen had at one time lived at the mobile home where Diane Lopez was shot and killed this past Thursday. "He had lived there but wasn't living there now," said Graham.

He said the investigation of Lopez's shooting death by four gang members uncovered a cell phone with pictures showing the teen holding a gun.

Graham said the teen has a felony record and is prohibited from having guns.

There was no additional information about the four gunmen dressed in blue who shot and killed Lopez.
