Mother, daughter art exhibit changed to Friday

Due to an inaccurate news tip, the date for Boni and Sarah Deal's art exhibit at Guerra's Coffee Company was incorrectly reported last week.

The art exhibit, called Mother/Daughter Twist, will be held at the coffee shop on Friday, May 6, from 5 to 9 p.m.

The reception will feature free appetizers, coffee and live music. The mother/daughter artists will also lecture on their work and answer questions.

Boni Deal earned a Bachelor's degree with honors in fine art and graphic design from Portland State University. She considers balance and flow the most important aspect in the design of her work.

Sarah grew up watching her artistic mother and joined her, taking art classes in high school and college. Sarah has used her talent in her first grade classroom and around the community. Sarah has been involved in painting five murals in and around Sunnyside.

Sarah's "Mermaid Mobile", a painted 1991 Chrysler New Yorker, will make its debut at Seattle's Art Car Blowout in June.

Guerra's Coffee Company is located at 1829 South First Street in Sunnyside.
