Patricia "Pat" J. Slack 79, of Granger, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011.

Pat was born Aug. 31, 1931 in Granger, the daughter of Glenn and Ruth (Hollett) Anderson.

Pat received her education in Granger.

On Dec. 24, 1945 she married Delbert Slack in Granger. Pat's first love was being a mother to her five children. She worked for Cliff's Battery in Sunnyside for many years and Yakima Bait in Granger.

She was a member of the Granger Assembly of God.

She volunteered many hours at the Granger Food Bank.

Pat enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, camping and fishing.

She is survived by one daughter, Deborah L. (Glen) Langford of Zillah; four sons, Alvin "Joe" Slack of Palmer, Alaska, Eddie (Janice) Slack of Benton City, Donnie (Dora) Slack and Michael (Alice) Slack, all of Zillah; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Anderson of Seattle and Gary Anderson of Granger; one sister, Jackie Jensen of Zillah; and her three canine companions, Jezebel, LeRoy and Susie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delbert Slack in 1971; two brothers, LeRoy and Glenn; and one sister, Gertrude.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., with funeral services to follow at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.
