Water, sewer rates going up start of year in Grandview

GRANDVIEW - Citizens in Grandview will in 2012 begin paying higher water and sewer rates.

The Grandview City Council this past Tuesday passed two ordinances raising the rates.

Water customers will pay 6 percent more and sewage rates increased by 7 percent.

The rate increase has been a planned step increase to account for wastewater treatment plant upgrades and the loss of the Wild River Foods plant in 2008.

The council approved the new rates by unanimous consent.
