Winfield Kilian, 75, of Sunnyside passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at his home in Sunnyside.

Winfield was born Dec. 19, 1935 in White Bluffs, to Herman and Lina (Kafer) Kilian.

He received his education in Sunnyside, graduating with the class of 1954.

After high school, Winfield joined the U.S. Army.

On Jan. 29, 1961 Winfield married Leona Sinner at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Sunnyside.

Winfield loved farming. He started farming with his family at a very young age.

Winfield enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling to the coast and he enjoyed going to the local casinos.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Sunnyside.

Winfield is survived by two children, Lora Kilian of Seattle and Mark (Tonya) Kilian of Prosser; six grandchildren, Terra, Cory, Luke, Ashley, Danielle and Taylor; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herman (Joanne) Kilian and Ervin (Sharon) Kilian, all of Sunnyside; and one sister-in-law, Karon Groeneweg of Outlook.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Kilian; one son, Mike Kilian; one daughter-in-law, Melinda Kilian; a grandson, Andrew Kilian; one brother, Fred Kilian; and three sisters, Julie, Lina and Marie.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at 11:30 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside.
