Jose A. Roman, 53, of Sunnyside passed away on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011. Jose was born June 3, 1958 in Reynosa, Tamaulipan, Mexico to Jose and Andrea (DeLeon) Roman.
At an early age Jose moved with his family to Sunnyside, where he received his early education, graduating from Sunnyside High School with the class of 1977.
On Jan. 9, 1988 Jose married Maria "Lupe" Rodriguez at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview.
The couple lived and raised their family in Sunnyside, where Jose worked in the auto mechanic industry.
Jose loved to fix cars in his spare time and cherished spending time with friends and family.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside.
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Maria G. Roman; his children, Vanessa Roman, Josie Roman and Freddie Roman, all of Sunnyside; his parents, Jose C. Roman and Andrea Roman; his sister, Maria (Francisco) Canales; two brothers, Michael (Jenny) Roman and Andres Roman, all of Sunnyside; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jose was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose C. Roman Sr. and Petra Roman.
Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
