Chiawana Riverhawks sweep Lady Grizzlies

PASCO - Sunnyside's Lady Grizzly bowlers tried as they might, but the team's efforts didn't push though the host Chiawana team, who swept the Lady Grizzlies 4-0 yesterday (Tuesday).

Chiawana's top performer in the opening game at Go Bowl Lanes in Pasco, rolled a 169, that notched by Carina Garcia, who had a two-games series of 315.

Chiawana swept the two-game total pinfall series by scores of 715-708 and 678-625.

Junior Adriana Lopez rolled the top two two-game series for Sunnyside on the afternoon via a total of 312. Seniors Yaya Gonzales and Amanda Villarreal both notched a 268.

Seniors Veronica Alvarez and Rosa Garza finished via series scores of 253 and 232, respectively.

Chiawana also took both Baker games via scores of 170-131 and 169-121. JV scores were not received by Daily Sun News staff before press time.

Last week Sunnyside's varsity team lost 4-0 to West Valley while the JV lost 3-1.

Yesterday's loss brings the Lady Grizzly bowling team's record to 2-3 on the season.

The SHS bowling team will host its next match at Valley Lanes scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 29, against Davis High School.
