Drug arrest yesterday

GRANDVIEW - Michael Alanis, 30, of Grandview was arrested yesterday, Wednesday, on drug charges.

The arrest was made in the 900 block of West Fourth Street by the LEAD Task Force with assistance from Grandview police.

Travis Shephard, a detective with the task force, said Alanis was arrested on charges related to possession of meth and marijuana with intent to distribute.

Shephard said Alanis also faces an outstanding warrant for escape, as well as Department of Correction violations.

"It was a follow up to a tip I got from an anonymous citizen," Shephard said of yesterday's arrest. "We get tips from the community every once in awhile and we were able to follow up and make it happen."

Also in Grandview yesterday, police were alerted to graffiti in the 700 block of West Main Street and a report of vandalism in the 600 block of East Second Street, where a rock was thrown through a window.
