Wine, dine and stomping grapes are on the entertainment agenda this Saturday at Airfield Estates.
A 5K vineyard run, grape stomp, lunch and winemaker's dinner will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, beginning at 11 a.m. The winery will be hosting its fifth annual full-day event in celebration of five years in the business.
Airfield Estates owner Mike Miller says the run for fun showcases the winery's vineyard for customers who rarely see the beauty of a vineyard during harvest time. The 5K vineyard run/walk begins at Sunnyside's Airfield Estates Vineyards, located at 2571 Harrison Road, at 11 a.m., and check-in time begins at 10 a.m. for participating runners or walkers.
The crush pad lunch follows from noon to 3 p.m. at the winery, located at 560 Merlot Drive in Prosser. After lunch, visitors are invited to roll up their jeans and join in the grape stomp from 2 to 5 p.m. A fabulous winemaker's dinner at the winery will start at 6:30 p.m.
Miller said the winery began this event five years ago, and continues because of the large response and excitement among attendees.
Prices for each of the events vary from $20 to $120 dependent on the events attendees wish to participate in. Participants and spectators are both welcome to attend. For more information on the event, pricing or meal menus visit the winery's website at www.airfieldwines.com or call (509) 786-7401.
