Surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, our dear Father in heaven opened his arms to embrace and receive Rosalie Cordova.

Rosalie was born April 12, 1963 in Moses Lake to Cecil and Eleanor Martinez. This is where she spent her childhood, received her education, married and started her family. Rosalie was blessed with four children, Jennifer, Veronica, Daniel and Miriah.

The latter part of her life brought her to Grandview, to be near her mother and her siblings. During this time Rosalie had a long, drawn-out dragged out battle with her health (polycystic kidney disease). She was in constant pain, but she didn't let it stop her.

She enjoyed a variety of activities from crocheting to beading, playing the Wii with her grandson to just being with her family, whether it be celebrating a birthday or just relaxing while crunching ice.

The last two months of her life, she was courageously fighting for survival after having heart surgery. She is now free of pain and in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

Rosalie leaves behind to celebrate her life three daughters, Jennifer (Trevor) Thompson of Kelso, Veronica Cordova of Santa Rosa, Calif. and Miriah Cordova of Grandview; one son, Daniel Martinez (Hannah) Thiesfeld of Moses Lake; two grandsons, Tayson and Zander; her mother, Eleanor Antunez of Grandview; siblings, David (Diane) Martinez of Grandview, Rosie (Jeff) Brown and Alice Alexander, all of Prosser, Elizabeth (Danny) Hernandez of Yakima and Josie Molina and Frank (Frances) Vacaneri, all of Arizona; and numerous extended family and friends.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her father, Cecil; two brothers, Daniel and Ezekiel; and two of her best and dearest friends, her sisters, Yolanda and Rachel.

To our beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, we love you today, tomorrow and always!

A memorial service will be held Saturday Oct. 15, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Grandview.
