Routine day in Sunnyside

Sunnyside police have since yesterday (Monday) been kept busy with a number of routine calls.

A shoplifting incident at the Mid Valley Mall was among the responses made by officers.

Sunnyside police have also responded to four 9-1-1 hang-up calls, five automatic alarms, an animal complaint, a citizen dispute, a controlled substance problem, two domestic violence incidents, a report of fraudulent activity, a graffiti report, a report of harassing behavior, three suspicious activity calls, a report of threats, a traffic accident, five traffic stops and a vandalism report.

Officers also provided two agency assists, fielded four informational calls and served two arrest warrants.

Police Monday night at approximately 6:30 p.m. stopped a vehicle in the Bi-Mart parking lot after an officer noted the vehicles license tabs were expired. The driver, Rodolfo Artiaga, 21, was detained on scene and police are requesting he be charged with failure to obey an officer, no valid operator's license, failure to renew expired motor vehicle license and operating a motor vehicle without liability insurance.
