Lady Pirate's final home match results a win, 3-0

BICKLETON - In the final home match of the season, this past Saturday, the Lady Pirates honored their seniors with a 3-1 win over Mabton's JV volleyball squad.

The match started out strong with a 25-11 win for the Lady Pirates. Mabton put up a fight in the second round.

"It was tense," Coach Joelle Patterson said.

But the Lady Pirates pushed through scoring 30-28. They finished off the match defeating Mabton by a 25-7 decision.

Providing the most assists for Bickleton throughout the match was sophomore Amanda McBride with 10. The Lady Pirate was also 9-for-11 at the service line.

Freshman Lindsey Brown had nine kills and three blocks. The Lady Pirate was also 19-for-21 at the service line. Sophomore Haley Goodnight provided five assists and was 3-for-4 at the service line.

Jamie Venema had seven kills and three blocks. The sophomore also was 19-for-20 at the service line; and senior Aymie Osborne had four kills and was 11-for-15 at the service line.

Last Saturday's win takes the Lady Pirate's overall record on the season to 5-6, 3-4 in league play.

The Lady Pirates will complete the regular season in a face-off at Sunnyside Christian's home tomorrow (Tuesday).
