The month of September is looking to buck a trend of cooler weather in Sunnyside.
That's according to the National Weather Service, which released a forecast yesterday calling for warmer than normal temperatures in Sunnyside for the month of September.
Normal highs for Sunnside range from 82.7 degrees at the start of the month, to 77.3 at the end of September.
Normal lows here in September range from 49.7 to 44.8 degrees.
Warmer than usual weather for September would be in contrast to August, which saw Sunnyside have an average temperature of 68.7 degrees, 3.3 degrees below normal.
High temperatures last month averaged 86.7, with Aug. 27 the hottest day at 93 degrees. The coolest temperature last month was 44 degrees on Aug. 16.
Sunnyside is still on track to have its first summer in more than a decade without reaching 100 degrees.
The month of August also gave Sunnyside .02 inches of rain, .028 below normal.
Overall, though, the area is above normal for precipitation, with 8.31 inches for the water year that began last October. That total is 2.12 inches above normal for Sunnyside.
