School supplies appreciated

Washington Elementary School would like to thank our Lower Valley Credit Union for its gracious donations of school supplies to our students for their first week of school.

As we presented the folders, which included paper, pencils, crayons, rulers, erasers and glue sticks, the kids' eyes sparkled to see that they would get extra supplies to make them successful this school year.

This is not the first time our Lower Valley Credit Union has come into schools with their donations. Just last year employees came into schools teaching fourth graders about Arbor Day and giving them a tree to plant on their own and five dollars to start an account at the credit union. These acts of kindness really show us that our community really cares for our youth in Sunnyside. Believe me, it does not go unnoticed.

Again, from Mr. Rangel's first and second grade students, a BIG THANK YOU to our Lower Valley Credit Union!
