GRANGER - Pride & Joy Dairy in Granger has been cleared by the WSDA to sell its raw milk products.
After an investigation as to whether or not the dairy's milk was infected with E. coli, the WSDA found negative results in all its testing samples over the course of five days.
The investigation began after routine testing of raw milk products sold by the dairy. One sample tested positive for E. coli.
Pride & Joy raw milk was recalled for the duration of the investigation that spanned five days.
However, that one positive sample was an anomaly.
Subsequent testing resulted in negative findings and the dairy has put its products back on the shelves at several Western Washington markets, as well as at the dairy's store.
"Sales are up 15 percent," said Pride & Joy Dairy Owner Allen Voortman.
He is pleased with the outpouring of support from customers. He said the dairy received more than 500 phone calls during the course of the investigation, most of which were supportive.
"We were cleared two days ago," said Voortman.
